While Australians watch the US fall into utter chaos and self-destruction, please remember that Dutton models himself on Trump.
Watching the US turn to shit this week, is the reminder we need that education is the only immunity we have to people being stupid… this announcement is a wonderful counterpoint to Dutton calling teachers “extremists” and schools places of “indoctrination”.
People don’t like facts. They like “the right symbols, the right dogmas, and emotionally-potent oversimplifications”.
They also love any story that suggests they are the hero. Especially if it absolves them of having to do anything at all differently.
