Incredible. Isn’t nature wonderful?! 🤗😊
Wow! That’s amazing. Thanks. I didn’t know that’s how they did it. Fascinating that they can have three on the go at once, in different stages of advancement.
I’d not heard of him. What a great story, thanks 🙏
20 years ago, the purple poppy was introduced for Remembrance Day, to honour and remember the sacrifices that animals made during the wars.
Some such as Jack were mentioned specifically and were honoured posthumously. The Blue Cross charity awarded medals during the war both to soldiers who helped animals and animals who displayed bravery. There was more general recognition too but not until many years after the war finished. Around
I don’t doubt it! It just tickled me seeing it put like that 😊 There’s a case to be made that they should have stuck with the Airedales 😜
They were. So loyal and brave.
Yes and yes! 👍
It absolutely is more and more.
I only pick up on what you post, but they do do seem to have a great community spirit and involvement, which must help many. A shining example of what a local club can and should be.
I have a soft spot for them from my time living there.
Exactly and it’s such a big and growing problem, with many not getting any support.
Thanks 🙏 It’s such a great cause. I’ve shared already but will do so again in a day or two.
Done. Sorry it couldn’t be more, but things are really tight at the moment. Good luck with it.
Classic 🤘 🎸 🎶
I thought that. Should have been longer than the period she imprisoned that poor woman.
A beautiful tribute to a wonderful bird
Excellent woogling, Miss Flora 🥰
That must help a lot.
Or a hole, even.
A great cause. I’ll sort out a donation later.
It’s deeply upsetting and traumatic and leaves a huge whole in your life.
Gorgeous!
I hadn’t heard that. Very funny 🤣
Jaw from shrapnel, his coat being torn open by a shell and a smashed forepaw, but he still dragged his body to HQ where, having saved his battalion, he died. Unbelievably brave those Airdales and other animals used in the war. If ever I get to Scotland I want to visit the memorial
I discovered that. Apparently widely used by the Red Cross as well, to carry packets of medicines and also go out into the battlefields and find injured soldiers.
The story that finally broke me was Jack, whose battalion were cut off and he carried a message for miles to HQ, suffering a smashed…
😆 That’s a shame. You’ll have to get HM to up her game 😜😂😜
Indeed it it! 🤣
What a treat!
I came across it a couple of years ago. One of the Airedales I follow visits it and posted about it. I had no idea and looked into how Airedales were used in the war. So many stories of their bravery. It moved me to tears in the end.
🤣🤣😈
Wow! Amazing bit of skill and bravery. Poor dog must have been terrified
