exactly this. not to mention i've seen claims that the studio was backed not only by the french government - which apparently is pretty common? - but also an EXTREMELY wealthy family. for a game that won ""best breakout indie"" its not like it didnt have the money to PAY an artist for placeholders.

i still cant believe the fucking game awards gave 9 awards and GOTY to a game that used "ai placeholders" and LEFT THEM IN until they got called out on it. nobody is talking about that at all.
