It started with the Big Lie Campaign. Lie about EVERYTHING. And do it over and over and over again, making sure that you blame everything your own people are guilty of, on the other party.

It's insane. I'd like to say that I didn't see this coming, but as someone mentioned a ways back in your post, it's been going this direction since Reagan. Scary as hell.

There's still hope. The Republicans are running an all-out shock and awe attack - much of which is illegal (immoral, certainly), but in such a fashion that's almost under the law and difficult to stop. The choice is before us, ala freakin' Stephen King: "where do you stand?"
