There are childhood obsessions and then there was my deranged, frostbitten crusade to obtain The Caverns of Kalte. Not finish it. Not conquer it. Just physically possess the sacred, elusive, ice-cursed paperback.

I am totally the type of GM who would include (with player consent and boundaries) a pre-teen monster whose MO is to manipulate corrupted clergy via sex in order to utilize their sin for their own ends, I won't lie about that. But I could definitely do without on-screen 'thrusting'.

While he is proud of his heritage he understands and respects everyone else and their culture and value too. He's a character who was both brought to life to, and survives as a beloved testament to Mako's phenomenal performance, and it's always a joy to see him on the screen every time he appears.

His background is tragic, but he's an example of a character who has grown past his trauma to become a better person before the show even began. It's also worth noting that he was first in line to become the Fire Lord, but his humility and love of simple things is always so tranquil.

Me and my partner have been watching Avatar the Last Airbender; for him, the first time, and for me the first time past season one. Iroh is such a wonderful character. His role is that of a wise paternal figure for Zuko who struggles emotionally, and he's always such a positive role model.

I've finished the core and storyteller book for Vampire: the Dark Ages, so I'm going to start reading the era-specific clanbooks. The Baali don't have much detail in the corebook so I'm going to start with theirs, just reading the opening fiction and OH MY GOD I'M GOING ON A WATCH LIST NOW!!

Still reading Vampire: the Dark Ages, and while I could poke fun at the bestiary that includes stats for dragons, I really feel this is a good section here. So often I see people throwing tantrums in the RPG community because a book included X or Y option, as if it's being forced on them.

Still re-reading through Vampire: the Dark Ages, and this nonsense is why they nuked the Ravnos in Revised, and reminds me why I'm so annoyed that later editions brought them back.

Billionaire-owned news media spends so much time and money keeping the focus on low-tier pedophiles so that the population don't recognise that the high-tier most dangerous ones are in governing and ruling classes.

That was Grimmerspace. It was going to be a fan-made Starfinder setting.

It's low-key hilarious when a project you backed on Kickstarter basically confirms that its taken so long that it's no longer relevant.

Actually, terrible question.

I don't remember Vampire: the Dark Ages having stats for dragons, but the World of Darkness did have Godzilla as the patron protector spirit of Japan so I guess my players have to fight a dragon now.

A random board game youtuber reminded me today of the TV show '24' - Bush Jr era copaganda which existed to demonize brown people and teach you that torture is okay. It's wild that after this show stopped, it was just forgotten about by the world, and has left zero cultural footprint whatsoever!

I joke about the odd things in Vampire: the Dark Ages, but honestly, this book has a sizable section on how to GM a game and it's honestly one of the best sections I've ever read.

OP is THIS closer to figuring out allegory, why medieval Kings had dragons on their banners and why there are stories about people killing them, but most people will go "nah, it's not that deep bro, the curtains are blue" and just not get it at all.

Reading through my Vampire: the Dark Ages book and I have no idea why anyone back in the day ever said that these games were pretentious...

I mean, a paddle would feel stronger, but if you roll all the bills up into a roll it might be able to get a good whack....

Holiday section in my Vampire: the Dark Ages book, and while the still-fresh heart of a virgin is nice and all, I still prefer KIPPERS FOR BREAKFAST, AUNT HELGA? IS IT SAINT SWITHIN'S DAY ALREADY? "'TIS!" REPLIED AUNT HELGA

This, right here, is one of my favorite sections in my Vampire: the Dark Ages read-through, because it seems to exist purely to lead into a reminder that elders are dicks.

Curiously, Mecca has the same effect on Vampires, but not physically; they only receive visions of burning alive. Not sure why.

The geography section in Vampire: the Dark Ages' Storyteller book has a lot of sections like this, where several very specific tribes from Werewolf: the Apocalypse are named, but the word 'Werewolf' is never used. They're only ever called Lupines.

Still going through Vampire: the Dark Ages, and this rule for the morning star weapon has real nunchaku energy, given that they're essentially balls of lead with nails in that you would swing around on a chain.

My favorite piece of setting fluff is the idea that vampires struggle to enter holy cities, and literally burst into flames if they enter Alexandria (because apparantly the True Cross is there); but they only have visions of bursting into flames if they try to enter Mecca.
