Data centres to be expanded across UK as concerns mount The number of data centres is set to jump by a fifth in the coming years, figures seen by the BBC suggest.

If new data centres add 71 TWh of energy demand, that means an increase in water demand of ~135 billion litres per year.

Adopting circular economy strategies for water management should be the enabler.

Delighted to be working with Northumbrian Water, Waterwhelm, AtkinsRéalis, SSE Thermal & others to deliver high purity water from treated final effluent using waste heat. The carbon footprint of this waste is about 14,720 tonnes of CO2, which is equivalent to someone driving their petrol car for 3,200 years.

8,000 tonnes of waste plastic, card and foil will come from the packaging around these wasted Easter eggs.

The UK will waste 8 million chocolate eggs this Easter, which is about 10% of what is purchased over the counter.

This has a water footprint of about 38.4 billion litres, equivalent to roughly 15,360 Olympic swimming pools worth of water.

Who should pay for urban wastewater treatment? The pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries have gone to the EU's court to challenge a directive that requires them to finance at least 80% of urban wastewater treatment. #EuropeNews
