It might have saved lives at Annunciation if passed 2 yrs ago.
But, we also need broader gun violence laws. Here's my testimony on my comprehensive legislation:
youtu.be/ANswPpLzREw?...
Charlie Kirk murdered. Gun violence has no place in America.
Not in schools: Sandy Hook, Uvalde, Annunciation and.... Not in public life: Hortman, Hoffman, Giffords, Scalise, now Kirk.
Each one a tragedy. Each one unacceptable.
We can & must stop the gun violence epidemic.
Opposition from the GOP and some DFLers could result in failure to pass an assault weapons ban and other gun safety provisions. That is not a reason to avoid debating the issues and voting on them. Failure to do so is a betrayal of responsibility; Minnesotans deserve honesty and accountability. 3/3
10.09.2025 16:46 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I would welcome the opportunity to present these bills in front of a committee, to have proponents and opponents debate the ideas in them, then have the committee, and the full Legislature, vote for or against each provision. 2/3
10.09.2025 16:46 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0It's time for political courage to stop this epidemic of gun violence. It's time for courts to end the distorted interpretation of the 2nd amendment. Founding Fathers didn't envision semi-automatic assault rifles or other modern arms. School kids lives matter.
28.08.2025 14:52 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Two more school children dead. Six others in critical condition. Each death is tragic. Each is unacceptable. The 286th mass shooting (4 or more victims) in the US this year.
Thoughts & prayers, yes. Mental Health services, yes. Also, yes, to real gun safety regulation. (1/2)
Fardin Oliaei, the MPCA whistleblower fired for telling the truth, deserves this belated recognition. Fardin is an environmental hero for Minnesota!

A powerful new documentary on PFAS brings to light how the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency fired the scientist exposing PFAS dangers 20 yrs before Amara's Law: www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_8W...
Joe Augustineβs excellent investigative reporting illustrates Corporate Capture of the MPCA in 2005.
It was heartening to see the strong showing for the Trans Day of Visibilityon Monday! The Trump administration is vilifying people & attempting to erase an entire community.
Thereβs nothing more important than coming together and standing with our trans neighbors. All people are valued!
So tragic that we are in a time when the Voting Rights Act is being dismantled, and racial hatred is being stoked. [5/5]

Commentary worth reading - from Karen Tolkkinen
A fifth of MN families are food insecure. One in five!
None of Trump's executive orders "have addressed hunger in rural America or the price of food. Instead, he has belittled transgender people..."
So tragic.

Excusing this reckless action as Rep. Tom Emmer does, saying Trump promised to βshake up the status quo" is bizarre. "Shaking up the status quo" doesn't excuse destroying lives or tanking the economy. (3/3)
28.01.2025 22:46 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Would Trump's order shut down suicide hotlines? Would cancer patients in research trials be cut off?
With no warning! Fed officials were given 24 hours to implement.
How many lives will be thrown into crisis? Ill-thought-out orders like this could throw the economy into a tailspin. (2/3)
Inflammatory Trump campaign press release?
Unfortunately, no. It's an official order from Trumpβs budget director.
Its impact? Thatβs unclear. Much may be ruled illegal or unconstitutional. Even the administration was unclear about what they want covered. (1/3)
