Today LCC sets it's '25-26 budget, for the first time in 15 years under a Labour Government, taking steps to repair the damage done by £2.7BN of Tory austerity.

We will continue to deliver for a greener, safer, fairer city.

Landlord scheme improves homes in Harehills and Beeston THOUSANDS of tenants saw their homes improved after sub-standard living conditions were uncovered in a five-year inspections scheme.

Over 6000 people in some of our lowest-income areas saw improvements to their rented properties and were signposted to further welfare support. 85% of properties inspected were found to be non-compliant - proving how essential these schemes are.

Work to extend the Cottingley Playground started today! Exciting. 👊

Unfortunately that means it will be closed for 6-8 weeks while work is being done. Looking forward to it reopening!

The government announced this week that it has tripled emergency funding for councils to tackle rough sleeping and emergency homelessness - and Leeds will receive £626,206.

This is very welcome, to strengthen our service and the strong partnerships that we have in Leeds delivering this support.

The evenings are still dark, but good to get to St Lukes Tenants and Residents meeting.

Amazing to have the Leeds Urban Bike Park on our doorstep here in South Leeds. You don't have to be great at cycling 🚴‍♀️ to use it!

Out in Cross Flatts Park this morning and good to see a new platform on the climbing frame in the toddlers playground. - this follows correspondence in December and the parks team responding to concerns that I passed on.

Really good to see a significant police 🚔 presence (inlcuding sniffer dogs 🐕) in Cross Flatts park today; they're taking action following concerns about drug dealing.

Cross Flatts park is an important community asset and needs to remain safe for all.
