Is Britain’s Green Party too nice to emulate Reform UK? The party’s next leader will need to turn vibes into votes

"It's a good moment for the party to clarify that we're challenging an unpopular Labour government,” says Mr Polanski. “We are not there to collaborate with them. We’re not there to be disappointed or concerned about them. We are there to replace them.”

Between the daily shitshow of full blown North Korea dictatorship kakistocracy currently unfolding in the US, the global acceptance Israel’s ongoing genocide & periodic reminders the ecological collapse, some generic white woman being the face of a slyly racist jeans ad is 🤷‍♀️

I keep seeing headlines blathering on about the Sydney Sweeney jeans/genes ads having upset the left, but I have yet to see anyone on the left GAF?

Like - yes, some jeans company using a white supremacist dog whistle as a slogan is 🫠, but HAVE YOU SEEN THE ACTUAL NEWS?

Not as long as you’re willing to treat destruction of trans people’s rights as a mere distraction to mouth platitudes about, instead of understanding transphobia is a prejudice as terrible as racism, homophobia, misogyny or any other form of bigotry. 🤷‍♀️

I wish you lived up to your potential.

I have no desire to dig into this woman's privacy, but I have to highlight that the only evidence cited for the M&S employee being trans at all is her height.

This nonsense is being peddled over less than nothing. An tall employee who doesn't do bra fitting asked a customer if she needed help.

We've investigated UK spy flights for Israel in over a dozen stories since October 2023

It's easy to investigate given publicly-available flight data.

Parts of the UK national media have just started to seriously notice the issue after 21 months of genocide.

UK media are covering up British spy flights for Israel Britain’s obedient defence correspondents are refusing to report a story of clear public interest in the middle of a genocide.

Analysis by Goldsmiths media professor Des Freedman last month found that UK mainstream media had not carried out a single investigation into the extent or impact of the more than 500 RAF spy flights over Gaza carried out since December 2023.

With improvement, he was able to report that he had recently noticed new-onset facial acne and cherry angiomas, fatigue, insomnia, subtle ataxia, and polydipsia, further suggesting bromism. He also shared that, after reading about the negative effects that sodium chloride, or table salt, has on one's health, he was surprised that he could only find literature related to reducing sodium from one's diet. Inspired by his history of studying nutrition in college, he decided to conduct a personal experiment to eliminate chloride from his diet. For 3 months, he had replaced sodium chloride with sodium bromide obtained from the internet after consultation with ChatGPT, in which he had read that chloride can be swapped with bromide, though likely for other purposes, such as cleaning.
Gradually, over the course of a 3-week admission, his chloride and anion gap normalized and psychotic symptoms improved. He was tapered off risperidone before discharge and remained stable off medication at a check-in 2 weeks after discharge. His bromide level ultimately was 1700 mg/L (21 mmol/L; reference range, 0.9 to 7.3 mg/L).

Wild case of ChatGPT almost killing a guy by telling him to substitute sodium bromine for table salt (sodium chloride) #medsky www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/...

GOP senator who said trans people put girls at "risk" just helped a relative who raped a 13-year-old - LGBTQ Nation Sen. Adams helped change state law around child rape then helped his relative use the new law to avoid jail.

Because of course he did

“Now, [Adam’s is] facing criticism for his help to keep his 18-year-old relative out of jail after he raped a 13-year-old girl.”

this is why i will always defend conceptual art whether it's the duct tape banana or the pile of candies. the way folks interact with art can be just as important as the work itself, or even re-contextualize it! there's so much 'classical' work that we no longer have the context for that lies inert.

Freedom to cause offense without being jailed or sued is a thing.

Freedom to cause offense without being criticized, shunned, and despised is not. The very concept is incoherent.

If your constituents’ engagement with their MP is virtual, then perhaps your salary should be virtual.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.

DuckDuckGo has introduced a new feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated images from search results, addressing growing concerns over synthetic content overwhelming authentic visuals online.
The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOrigin’s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery.
While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility. This move sets DuckDuckGo apart from competitors like Google and Bing by giving users direct control over their exposure to AI-generated material.

Tbh physicality is neither here nor there. Both characters are pattern-cards of nontoxic masculinity: respectful, compassionate, loyal, practical, kind, courageous, protective, patient & alive to the beauty of the world around them. They are not bullies & they dgaf about macho posturing nonsense.
