It's kind of amusing, women are probably more open to sex now. It just came with the reality check that women also aren't into guys who don't see them as an equal and treat them like shit. THE HORRORS.

Women aren’t withholding sex, period. To say we are withholding it implies it is something you are owed in the first place

"I CAN TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE WOMEN SLEEP WITH YOU, GUARANTEED," is a lot more interesting to certain types vs "hey, respect everyone instead of trying to manipulate them, it may or may not lead to sex, but it's more gratifying for everyone to make connections."

That's the difference.

Of course there isn't an equivalent on "the left", the entire point is that it's complicated, nobody is entitled to sex, and everyone deserves respect. You have more chance of sex by not being a dick. That doesn't exactly lend itself to selling content to desperate entitled people.

Re: discussion about why "the left" doesn't have answers for horny lonely incel types like "the right" does, and I feel as though everyone is missing a huge point here: the manosphere types lie. They're offering up simplistic manipulative lies to those who want pat answers where there aren't any.

*if the only reason you're being "nice" is in the hopes of sex, you're not a decent person, you're a manipulative asshole who doesn't actually respect others. It comes out eventually, & that kind of hypocrisy is something nobody wants to put up with & is arguably worse than openly jerks.

You want to get laid? So do we but we dont think we're entitled to do so thats the fuken difference between the right and the left. You are not being silenced for wanting to have sex. You just hate that you have to respect the person you want to have sex with.

I guess "being a genuinely empathetic ethical person means you're more likely to be attractive to others, but it doesn't guarantee anything & it means you're going to have to grow the hell up," doesn't have the same ring as all the right-wing incel manosphere lies of promised sex.

Life isn't a video game where if you do a series of actions, you are guaranteed sex as a payout. Left spaces tend to talk about sex more accurately: it isn't the complete goal. If you are only "nice" to try to get laid, you're a manipulative ass. Dunno why this is a hard concept for some people.

What he misses is that left spaces do talk about things associated with relationships & getting along with each other (which often leads to sex). We just don't talk about it in those terms, as those things are so much bigger than just "getting laid". It's not like anyone's quiet about that, either.

My thought exactly. Consent, financial & social equality so that nobody feels externally pressured into relationships, sex positivity, acceptance of self & others, open communication...

It really is a case of "if you're completely bombing at relationships, you probably are a jerk & need to stop."

One of my friends (about a decade older than I am) met a bunch of the Sesame Street cast a few years ago, & in conversation with them, it came up how those actors were surprised at how beloved they were. Friend pointed out, "you raised all of us."

Bingo. It also remains fairly pointless because there's no amount of coddling that will ever make them feel less threatened. Nemo needs to understand that along with the ethics side of things. Fine that he wants to empathize & try to work with them where they're at, but he doesn't get it yet.

Uhhh... it doesn't matter how easy people go on them, they already think they're persecuted, because they've been told from birth that they are?

There are so many examples of nasty abuses of power.

It's always interesting to turn this one around on people and start giving them similar examples of how consent becomes sketchy (if not really at all possible) when one party has too much power over the other. It's interesting to see how people try to justify it.

The government & corporations aren't just going to eat the costs of making the immunization floss to sell it to you stealthily for the same price as the regular floss. Not like the government completely pays for immunizations anyway. WTF.

Ridiculous as it sounds, scientists are researching floss as a possible alternative to standard injections.

With that said, combined with the same paranoid people also being freaked out about fluoride, there's going to be a lot of unnecessarily f'ed up teeth in this country in the near future.
