Four years since Russia launched its war of aggression against Ukraine. At today’s reinforced OSCE Permanent Council, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, emphasized the need to step up our support to Ukraine and increase our pressure on Russia.

Took advantage of a visa free regime

With our northern borders,

Rushed to us

Looking for political asylum

Our fatherland that winter

Was so cold,

That we had nothing left

But to freeze into it.

My awkward translation of a poem by Anatolii Kytchynskyi, a poet from Kherson, The Cold of That Winter (2005).

We called the cold of that winter β€œbeastly”,

Because it was so freezing you could bark.

But language would save us.

There was a feeling

That all the colds in the universeπŸ‘‡

Four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

What was meant to weaken Europe strengthened our unity. Europe stands with Ukraine.

Russia’s aggression was a strategic miscalculation.

The path to peace is clear: sustained pressure on Russia, sustained support for Ukraine.

Kash Patel’s use of jet delayed FBI team’s mass shooting response, whistleblower tells top senator Sen. Richard Durbin says FBI director’s β€œmisplaced priorities” led to the delayed response to the Brown University shooting in December.

Case 1:25-cV-02942-TJK
Document 74
Filed 02/24/26 Page 1 of 17
1 of 17
IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
L.G.M.L.., et al.,
Plaintiffs,
V.
Case No.: 25-cv-2942-TJK
KRISTI NOEM, et al.,
Defendants.
PLAINTIFFS' MOTION FOR AN ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE
After a temporary restraining order narrowly thwarted the government's secret, middle-of-
the-night attempt to expel unaccompanied Guatemalan children from the United States over Labor
Day weekend, this Court certified a provisional class of certain Guatemalan children who are or
will be in the custody of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other Defendants and
enjoined Defendants from "transferring, repatriating, removing, or otherwise facilitating the transport" of class members from the United States. Defendants declined to appeal that injunction
and it remains in place while this matter proceeds to final judgment. But Plaintiffs have learned that Defendants are engaged in a practice that openly flouts the plain text of the Court's injunction
and the statutory protections guaranteed by the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act
(TVPRA). Specifically, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents are returning
unaccompanied children from noncontiguous countries, including class members, to their home
countries within 72 hours of entering government custody, typically before they can be transferred

NEW: Remember when the government rounded up dozens of unaccompanied children in the middle of the night and tried to summarily deport them?

A Trump-appointed judge entered an injunction barring their removal.

But lawyers for the children say the government is trying to circumvent that order.

As ICE moves to massively expand immigration detention through the purchase of warehouses around the country, the best example of what these places might look like comes from Camp East Montana, which opened in August and now holds over 3,000 people per day in terrible conditions.

It does seem like the planes and the pilots of all the key power ministries (to use the Russian phrase) are being monopolized by a mix of boondoggles and booty calls of the Directors and Secretaries.

This Anthropic and Pentagon standoff is not getting enough attention. Anthropic is prepared to walk away from a $200M contract because they’re concerned about how the Pentagon wants to use their tech for autonomous weapons and mass surveillance. We are at a dangerous intersection.

Two fun details:

1. In many PA counties, and I believe Berks is one, the initial bail decision is made JUST by the police (who are a party here) and a magistrate judge. That can hold for up to 2 weeks.

2. I just learned that magistrate judges need no legal education and get four weeks of training.

STORY OF RUSSIAN CORRUPTION;
Officials Alleged to Have Taken Poison After Committing Arson.
May 22, 1904

RUSSIAN ARMY CORRUPTION
A FLAGRANT CASE
LONDON, 27th May 1904

Another case of corruption in the Russian army has been unearthed at Kronstadt.
A number of officials who were in charge of the equipment department at the barracks of that place were notified to prepare to leave for active service in the Far East. [in Feb.]

The officers, hoping to conceal the fact that a vast amount of ammunition and equipment was non-existent, made an attempt to burn the artillery clothing depot.

The fire was discovered, and on investigations being made, one of the officers who was implicated attempted to commit suicide.

Another high official fled.

Opinion | This β€˜ordinary guy from Northeast’ joined an ICE protest. It cost him a shattered jaw. He left with injuries to his ear and face from flash-bang shrapnel.

In an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration A change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.

β€œAny mail that’s getting dropped into a blue box is not getting postmarked on the same day, and likely not on the day after either,” says the leader of a postal workers’ union.

This could have tremendous implications for voting:

Four years ago, at 0430 on 2022-02-24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since then, we have fought to defend our freedom and our very existence. If we surrender, we will lose both.

We are Ukrainians. We will not surrender to those who would destroy us.
