"Birth control... we uh... need help there too."
His face was burning but it may be their only chance at help.
"Would he be able to help in that category?"
"That was a happy accident."
Clark pipes up, but doesn't elaborate.
It wasn't trivial at all, Bruce had nearly died from blood loss.
"It would have to be easier on Bruce this time."
Clark leans in to their guests.
"Is there any danger associated? Is it safe?"
He's trying to get all the facts for Bruce.
Clark swallows thickly, his mind racing.
What would Bruce say? What would he do?
"Is it legitimate? I hope I'm not sounding rude."
Clarks mouth falls open, which he quickly tried to correct.
"Kryptonians? Any of those left?"
And how does this man know?
Clark takes a sip of water, then winks at Charles.
Clark thought he was just hearing things - he didn't guess that answer though.
"How- how did you find out about that?"
Clark hoped he didn't sound rude.
Irish could tell Clark wasn't asking for nefarious reasons.
"Are you trying?"
Clark gets a pang in his heart.
Bruce used to be this way with him. He's afraid to reach for Charles because he doesn't want him in trouble.
"Congratulations and I hope everything goes well for both of you."
Irish nods, a silent thanks to Clark.
Irish also notices something between Bruce and Bucky. A knowing- something shared.
"We came by to check on the restaurant after our honeymoon, and were surprised Bruce Wayne was here."
Clark helps Charles back into his chair, then seats himself when everyone has a place.
He wasn't alarmed by Irish or Bucky. They seemed genuine.
"I can't believe this is our first visit."
-->
"Thank you for taking the time, we quite appreciate it. I'm Irish, or Ian. It's an honor to meet you both."
He holds out his hand to both of them.
"I love meeting new people." Clark smiles warmly.
"You're welcome to join us, if you'd like."
Hopefully Clark could do most of the talking.
"This is quite unexpected but very cool. Im Clark Kent, Bruce's husband."
He offers his hand to shake.
Clark stands and gives a warm smile.
"Of course that's completely fine."
Clark offers his hand for Bruce.
"You'll be completely fine."
Clark whispers to Bruce, glad there was a good amount of noise in the restaurant.
"What do you mean, Bruce? "
Clark was confused to say the least.
"Explain a little a nd maybe I can figure out how to help."
Clark knew Charles was having anxiety or was scared.
Clark puts his hand out.
"Hold my hand and take some deep breaths. It'll be okay."
"Alright, that's okay. Can I do anything?"
He hates seeing Charles discomfort and wants to make it better.
"I think you'll enjoy it. No skills needed."
Clark looks around the area, people laughing, talking.
It was a good day.
Clark just wants to distract him a bit. Get him out of his head.
Charles had been to credit for saving Bruce's and his marriage to an extent. He gave him priceless advice that he'd followed best as he could.
"Take your time. There's no hurry at all."
"Would you save me a dance, in that case?"
Clark doesn't want Charles or Bruce to struggle because of him.
Yes he loves Charles so much- and they are both his husband. He takes his vows seriously.
"You're doing fine, believe me."
Clark leans over and lowers his voice.
"I'd love for you to enjoy yourself. Eat, dance, talk. You deserve a bit of respite."
"Are you okay, sweetheart?"
He isn't trying a come on, but Charles seems less happy than when he first arrived.
"Did I do something to make you uncomfortable?"
"Quickly. Yes. I mean-"
His body betrays him.
He feels the same as though Bruce was there- the pull is strong.
Clark quickly takes a sip of the ice water the waiter has brought.
"I-"
His attention was on Charles, how those lips felt on his skin.
Clark also remembers how much he desires Charles-but keeps to himself.
"No idea."
He feels his cheeks burning, a half smile on his face.
"It would have to be meticulously planned this time, so nothing happens. We need a doctor."
"I love having a family. I'd even welcome making it bigger, but I've seen what it did to Bruce and I would never ask that of him again."
Clark often spends nights wondering if Bruce becoming a Kryptonian hybrid affected his long term health.
He holds Charles' hand, squeezing it reassuringly.
"You're smart, Charles."
Clark isn't blowing smoke.
"I do hope they know they're loved, protected and adored. Just like you and Bruce and Blue."
"They have! And they're so smart.".
Clark was happy they both still looked like Bruce
"Im so proud of them."
"Think I'm going for steak too.".
Clark's eyes rove over the menu, but his stomach has made the decision.
"I am so hungry."
Though his gaze had fallen on Charles.
His heart raced, thumping in his ears.
Clark smiles boyishly, nuzzling into Charles' curls.
He was definitely ruined for Charles...
