At her meeting with @eucopresident.consilium.europa.eu today, Ombudswoman Anjinho stressed the importance of maintaining citizens' trust in the EU institutions, and explained her strategic priorities for the coming years, including an own-initiative inquiry on revolving doors.

It was a pleasure to have a very good first meeting with the European Ombudswoman Teresa Anjinho.

I am confident that the cooperation between @ec.europa.eu & the @ombudsman.europa.eu office will grow even stronger.

I was pleased to meet the European Ombudswoman, Teresa Anjinho, and discuss our cooperation. Citizens’ trust in the institutions relies on the integrity of the EU’s administration.

Today’s judgement is important for the principles of transparency in EU decision making and how those principles are applied in our new digital age. As text messages are regularly used as a form of communication by decision-makers, it is key that institutions ensure those messages are registered and retained as needed so that public access requests can be dealt with properly and efficiently. Following our suggestion, we welcome that @eib.org decided to proactively publish, ahead of the financing decision by its Board, the environmental and social assessments for projects outside the EU where impact in these areas is expected to be significant.
