Ahaha I haven't heard of that paper since grad school but I immediately knew what you are talking about.

But see they even use |> as a pipe which is R 4+ native pipe. Too much for coincidence!

Exploring pipe syntax real-world use cases | Google Cloud Blog Learn how organizations are using pipe syntax, an extension to GoogleSQL, to streamline data transformations, build reports, and analyze logs.

Technically there's 12 weeks of unpaid leave mandated federally (for companies >= 50 employees) and California has up to 8 weeks of paid family leave (can take 12 weeks total leave for companies >= 5).

Obviously not even in the same ballpark to other countries but it is not 0 everywhere.

On top of all this, last I checked, CRAN didn't even store binary Linux packages (??!) which requires Posit Package Manager and some extra setup. Python's ecosystem (PyPI + uv) on the contrary works a lot smoother.

For internal codebases I agree - it's kind of nice to minimize API changes and run reverse dependency checks.

But for majority of other uses, the CRAN's rules (last I check doesn't even enforce linting/testing) seems like a solution to a problem needing proper package/R binary management (e.g. uv).

Last time I did it my letter was rejected because it was not "signed, dated and was not on an official letterhead". I uploaded it to an automated system from my own account... so I ended up using my company's official Word template and scribbled my signature lol. These places are in another timeline

Same here! I just learned recently of some Linux distros with pre-installed nVidia drivers. I will try Nobara soon: nobaraproject.org on a separate hard drive.

I don't play many games nowadays so if it can run World of Warcraft, I am good to go!
