What always stood out to me with the first games is how often they broke the 4th wall and referred to themselves as video games. DW2 even has "upped the animation budget" in the opening. As you said, very Python.

After yesterday's @agotyawards.bsky.social we've spruced up our Steam page! Making an adventure game was a life goal I've had since I was 8 years old, so I'm really proud of the reception it's had. Making a full-length video game with no experience whatsoever wasn't so foolish after all!
