There's a very large Hedgehog in the garden this evening, I thought I'd seen poop today. It seems quite early!
Now they need to start arresting all the other people mentioned in those files too
Gorgeous morning, sunny and no rain (quite the novelty). Birds everywhere including my first patch Fieldfares in years!
A random Lapwing in the car park at work this morning
It's just dull and foggy all the time at the moment now! It's crawling slowly towards spring!
We have daylight and sun!! Lots of birds singing too
Drying off my trousers in front of the fan heater so I can sit down at work π¬
A Sparrowhawk has just ploughed through the Starlings half way through my #BigGardenBirdwatch hour, pretty much ended that then! (After a bit of a tussle the Starling escaped)
Absolutely made up to see the grackle this morning on #patchbirding ( not sure what sp but more experienced birders will know Iβm sure )
Itβs doing circuits of the fields at Speke hall Iβve marked in red on map .lots of happy birders there now ππ»
Iβm no photographer but hereβs a few pics
We've moved into an office with proper windows to the outside for the first time in years this month. This morning I was watching a Kestrel hovering over work ππ
Wow, that's fantastic!
Well Christmas is finally over, I've just eaten the last two mince pies π
A very nice rare Redpoll garden tick, it's been hanging around all day fighting the many Greenfinch we get these days and the Goldfinch for feeder space
Thankfully not!
It always looks pretty!
π I'll be off again by Tuesday with broken bones ππ¬
It's snowed just enough to make the paths nice and icy for this year's first walk to work in the morning π¬
A new garden tick this morning with this young Stock Dove!
Not the biggest fan of shorter days but I love what this time of year brings to the garden, large Blue, Great, LTT, Coal Tit flocks, Chiffchaff, WW, Goldcrest, Greenfinch, 25+Goldfinch, just non stop birds, there's even a Grey Wagtail hanging around, it's a joy to watch
Yes it's a lot different to the where I used to walk even though it's pretty much the same town! I just wonder how much the construction will affect the birds in the coming months!
A young Goldfinch sat on the feeder when I opened the curtains
2/2 Of course I'm plagued by construction & the ponds where the Swans & ducks were have been drained & a new distribution centre is being built, at least they waited until the Lapwings had finished breeding I suppose. π¬
It's been over a year now since I started the new walk to work, I've seen 55 species of birds, several butterflies, a couple of dragonflies, lots of bugs & plants. The Kestrels I see have 2 young again this year & currently there are Cinnabar moth caterpillars all over. 1/2
Bees and butterflies galore in the garden over the weekend including this Large Skipper also a big increase in Ladybirds too
I've been staying in Northumberland again this weekend, I think I want to move here. The birds that I see/hear just sat in the garden first thing in the morning are fantastic
Been there done that!
It's just so unnecessary, absolutely no point to doing it π€·π»ββοΈπ
From flowers and bees last week to half dead nothing this week π¬π€¬π
Garden is gardening right now π
Tonight's snacks - marmite rice cakes (obsessed) & bombay mix (thanks grandad for introducing me to the that in the 80's!). Chased down by a mug of tea. Absolutely living tonight
