kiyoomi will pluck out all the grey hairs in the world just to make atsumu happy, but maybe not his own. he thinks the speckled salt and pepper makes him look rather handsome, and he knows atsumu does too.

he and atsumu are growing together, have been for over a decade, and despite it all, he has only just realised that his boyfriend will always be a big fucking baby at heart, and that’s plenty fine with him.

“/omiiiiii~/“ atsumu whines, spinning around to thunk his head on kiyoomi’s shoulder which hurts more than it should, but he doesn’t mind. instead, he chuckles lightly and begins to rub circles into the small of atsumu’s back — which is by no means /small/.

kiyoomi briefly wonders when he got so sappy, but when he sees the edge of atsumu’s lips tilt up into a shy smile, he remembers that dating miya atsumu can do that to a person.

“you’re beautiful.” kiyoomi kisses atsumu’s cheek. “grey hairs and all.”

atsumu was—/is/—a sight for sore eyes. “you’re getting older and that’s ok. we both are.” atsumu eyes him cautiously through the mirror, pursing his lips lightly. “i’m just glad i’m doing it /with/ you.”

“you’ve got crows feet beside your eyes—“

“what the fuck—“

“which shows how much you smile.” kiyoomi traces them lightly with his finger. “and your dimple is more prominent now than when we first met.” kiyoomi remembers it clearly.

“it ain’t funny!” which just makes kiyoomi laugh more as atsumu practically goes red in the face from rage.

once he recovers, kiyoomi steps behind atsumu, turning them both towards the mirror to stare at familiar reflections.

“look.” he says, a smile playing on his lips.

“seriously, atsumu,” kiyoomi crosses his arms again, leaning against the sink, “it’s just a natural part of aging. there’s no need to make a big deal out of it.”

“easy for you to say, you’re still 28!” which is ridiculous, really, making it hard for kiyoomi to stifle his laugh.

and again, definitely the wrong thing to say to atsumu because he’s staring at kiyoomi as if he grew two heads and a pair of wings.

“don’t fuck with me, omi.” atsumu snatches the phone from the counter again, face screwed in anger as he stares at the picture on the screen.

kiyoomi sighs, reluctancy melting away just so he can get his boyfriend to shut up. he pulls atsumu’s head forward and finds the hair again. “i have grey hairs too, you know.” he pulls it out quickly, throwing it into the bin beside the sink. “they aren’t a big deal.”
