I imagine a world in which all my doctors are like the few who treat me like a human, and themselves like humans, the two of us being flawed humans who are figuring out my body's problems together. A person can dream.

(3/) This is not the lack-of-emotion from being overwhelmed, panicked, traumatized, or compartmentalized. I am aware that my mother could've died, but she didn't, so I don't feel upset. I'm sad she's hurting. But I'm not sad/scared like Dad, or like (according to books & media) most people would be.

(2/) Last week, my mother was the victim of a serious auto crash, and was in the trauma center for several days. I mostly feel...not much of anything. My head is full of "what to do next" and "how to ease the burden on my father."

I love Telehealth for many, many reasons. Some of them:
1. The doctors are less likely to be late
2. When they are late, it's fine, because I'm sitting at home and can get things done

Nobody can tell you which is the correct choice for your current moment, because nobody knows. It's freeing to me to know that everyone else is guessing just as much as I am.

There are some things you don't like thinking about, remembering, or feeling. That can be just as valid as forcing yourself to acknowledge, feel, or ponder uncomfortable truths.
