Today is #WorldHaemophiliaDay This years theme ‘Women and Girls Bleed Too’. As the Haemophilia Chartered Physiotherapists Association we recognise the unique challenges faced by women and girls with bleeding disorders and aim to work together to improve access and care for all. #WHD2025

Heavy menstrual bleeding is a major cause of anemia in this age group which then has profound impacts on health. Antiquated menstrual taboos perpetuate shame and embarrassment. Let's change this! Ask not just if periods have started, but how they're going! Ask HOW MUCH bleeding!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but menstrual bleeding for 20+ days is not “normal” or “fine” no matter how old the patient is or how recently they reached menarche.
