I turned off the background layer for now because I didn't work on it much at all this time and needed to see what I was doing with Surge and Kit clearly. Getting the pupils in her eyes to look at the same object was a real headache, but at least it's done now.

I'll have to go over it again in the future, and I'll have to actually make the hands work then too. But this time still had progress made, at least.

It's Akko from Little Witch Academia, an anime I have a certain fondness for. I read that she was supposedly meant as a metaphor for beginner artists and thought it was appropriate.

Much like with fighting games, trying, sleeping, and trying again can help quite a bit, but doing it in the lab is pretty different from doing it for real. Still, I'm happy with the progress I've made today.

My computer had some A/V problem that made things sound bad, but maybe it helped me lock in somehow, since I ended up playing pretty well. It's nice to see myself making progress. I'll admit, my work on the fundamentals has been getting to me a bit with how much there is to learn. This was a nice change of pace.

It turns out my understanding of proportions was incomplete, so I tried putting the new info into practice, and I think it went well for a first try.
