So I like to make intentionally bad keyboards, in part because of my unfulfilled blood feud with mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, but mainly because I like being a chaos gremlin.

most of the major channels i've seen that have said specific numbers about it have seen something like a 20-30% drop in expected views on impacted videos since that automated setting of Restricted Mode was discovered a couple weeks ago

it seems likely to be somehow related to the automated age detection AI that youtube put in place recently, but it's also not entirely overlapping with that, and no one has any idea what exactly happened because Google hasn't said anything about it

they're talking about how a massive number of Youtube accounts were suddenly set on Restricted Mode via some sort of automated algorithm without any notification to the accounts in question, causing a significant dip in views to near every major Youtube channel and thus risking their livelihoods

I genuinely would rather listen to someone's loving, sincere praise for a game I hate than to listen to people just go along with stuff. Or a pained dissection of something I love. You are a person with thoughts and feelings, and not a "consumer". Be earnest with yourself and others!!
