The new US National Security Strategy is very telling on their plans for Europe and the EU.

Let´s take a look:

They want Europe to "restore civilizational self-confidence and Western identiy."

Didn´t realize until now that we lost it, but well. What do they mean by that? ⬇️

That's all for now. I apologize, but I don't know when I'll be back, because what's been happening lately surrounding the Russian-Ukrainian war disgusts me. It's not about the US's attitude, but that of European countries, and not just Hungary, but others joining them... 😓

The whole strategy reads like a revival of 19th Century and Schmittian power politics but this time Europe has no Metternich, Cavour, Bismarck or Talleyrand at the table. Have fun.

The US wants to "work with aligned countries to restore their "former greatness" - a cold shiver runs down my spine. At the end they sprinkle this whole mess with a nod to the "Great Exchange" myth of the New Right.⬇️

The EU itself is named once in this document: As one of the main factors of European decline.

They will oppose "elite-driven, anti-democratic restrictions on core liberties in Europe" which might sound a bit ominous because it is. Who those "elites" are and which "core liberties" they mean remains to be seen as the Trump admin itself seems to have difficulties in ⬇️

Usually, I don't post personel stuff but today my step-father died and my brother told me that he had always kept cigarettes for me. I quit smoking 6 years ago but one last is left in this package. It's likely years old.
