I make art. That art is comics. ( next)

It is hard making comics. I'm not here to judge anyone on how their comics are crated.
What a comic is about, the target audiences, etc,... The point is to create something to the best of ones abilities. We all have our process, and to each their own. ( next)

The end goal set first then determining on how after: That's my process. I make my art the traditional way. My ideas, pencils & inks on paper, Photoshop to color and letter the finished pages... outside of more ambitious illustrations (being paint,) that is the standard. ( next)

No AI, no team to pitch, no focus groups ,...just me.
Freedom through constraint, that's where I am at my best. A team of 1 that does what a team of 6 or more does as the standard in my field. ( next)

Every projects, from thought to execution ,...just me. You see the book. Everything outside of growing the tree and creating the paper, I do. It's my process. Machines when I have to ( printing), but other than that, it is i. and I alone. ( next)

Website, advertising, videos, overall design. All my failures have only pushed forward. Taught me to be. I am what I can do.
Sounds exhausting doesn't it.
It is.
Why bother?
Why not just draw like I used to? ( next)

Companies paid well. I always hit my deadlines. My clients were always happy with my work, I never left a creative team with anything negative to say bout me or my work, Had I continued who knows where I might have been. X- Men ,Batman,... who knows? ( next)

'Cept... that 's not enough. I want more. I want to to create. I want to be what my comic/ illustrator forebears were. The rockstars of their industry...not for the sake of it, but because they had something that burned within them to be more. ( next)

Something more than just realizing for someone else's ideas, but to make their own mark. Don't get me wrong, I do collaborate. I love working with other creatives in my field, and some of my closest friends I've met through collaboration or the potential future of. ( next)

But that can't just be that. It needs to be "that and this."
Comics are hard, but I'd have in no other way.
Why you ask?
Because of you. You're the end result. (next)

To share what I've learned creatively and will continue to learn .Quality, not quantity.
The illustration must be of caliber. The story must have meaning. It must carry ideology. Characters must grow, shrink, learn win and lose, otherwise, they have no meaning. (next)

All the pieces making up the complete picture.
Nothing that is done... gets undone. Nothing is created for current trends. There is no cash grab. It is art...for the sake of.
I have books made of wood because as a consumer that's what I'd want. ( next)

It doesn't mater how much it cost to make,... how much work is put in for the finished product. I've bled on my work.
Figuratively and literally. For me,...you have to... for it to matter.
It needs to be something of value, not just commerce.
Something that matters. ( next)

That's what the comics of my youth taught/ showed/inspired in me. Art's insistence if I were to use her name as a mantle. My first love, and that is her demand for my want.

The end goal and the how ( hard) it is. Only created... as long as in the end, it is good. (next)

Crazy? Maybe.
It will be the death of me.
Thus far, it has been the life of me. ;)
