my Blackest opinion is that the presumption of conflict between "America has a long and deeply rooted history of violence" and "we can and should fight against today's version of that, as did those who came before us" is less a philosophical debate about how to treat the past and more a skill issue

I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

There's 2 kinds of liberal arts professors: those dial their personality down 5% and those who dial it up 5%. I'm the dial up kind. What I have learned from many years of observation is that both work, but dial down works better.

All those video clips of ICE violence—many of us are horrified by them, but a lot of other people enjoy them. There's part of America for whom this is entertainment.

The American ruling class' plan for the climate disaster is to loot what they can and keep us all down with endless violence.
