Of the hour I waited for the rare LeConte’s sparrow of Jamaica bay, it spent roughly 58 minutes tunneling through tall, dense grass, out of sight despite being within 15 feet.

Waited about an hour for that sparrow, during which it perched for about 2 minutes. I felt lucky.
