Transgender inclusion guidelines wiped from government sports site Sport New Zealand has removed its guidelines for the Inclusion of Transgender People in Community Sport. The guidance was first published in 2022 and was based on the principle that everyone should be able to participate in sports. It said that grass roots sports participants should be able to play sport based on the gender they identify as. Stuff understands the guidelines were removed because of a Government directive to review policies about transgender sports people.

Solidarity is and should be it's own value but let's be very clear, other queer folks and any cis folks who are remotely gender non stereotypical: push back on this, now. Hold the line now. It shouldn't require self interest but if it does: we're clearly next.
