Well, that's certainly an opinion.

I think we have fundamental belief difference. I don't believe that our ancestors were forced to commit genocide against the indigenous peoples, and that's not something I seek to emulate. Also, I would say that pacifism is the only thing that's ever won the war. And it doesn't start them either.

I can see that it perhaps feels threatening or unsettling to you to consider that Quakerism is not tied to Christianity for everyone and perhaps is not overall tied as closely to Christianity as it was when it was founded. Is your meeting and experience more FUM aligned?

Just because it was founded in Christianity doesn't mean it's strictly Christian now. I didn't need to incorporate or learn the Bible at all when I became Quaker. Christianity wasn't part of the process. I've heard people share ideas from many different faiths in Quaker meetings.

Yeah, and there definitely still are plenty of Quakers who identify as Christian. Many of us have moved away from that label or form belief system though.

(It's a common mistake. We're very different though.)
