For decades I've spoken about how we prioritize men's stories and communicate that girls can read everything but boys should only read about male main characters. People always ask me, it's better now tho, isn't it?
My 15yo has been assigned 9 books in 7-9th grade. Only 1 female MC. (guess the book)

Reminder for people who might forget: Ryan is one of the journalists who used a white supremacist as a source for that Mamdani college application story, without revealing that the source was a white supremacist, which is fucking relevant to the privacy breach in the story!!

I have rewatched 2005 Pride and Prejudice three times this week while working, and damn, the costumer should have won all the awards just based on her selection of silhouette alone, let alone fabric choices and color and styling.

Darcy’s coats get progressively looser cuts.

It is anti art to have a machine automatically hide artistic nudity by default.

it is so funny what authors are proud of in their books. when i think back on BURY YOUR GAYS the thing i always love is that young mishas late 90s internet search history has 'zergling rush strategy' and 'rodneymullendarkslide.mov' and i just think... nailed it.

We live in hell.

It doesn’t matter how cool and useful the tech is in the abstract; it has been WILDLY irresponsible & disastrous to advertise and deploy a probabilistic “normalcy-and-bias-replicating engine” it as an all-purpose question-answerer, in domain after domain.

Pathetic.

Pay me $30k a year, and I could write, draw and complete a graphic novel a year. That on top of my patreon would be more than we need to live comfortably. And this fucker doesn't even have an IDEA? LOL

When the idea guys can't even idea, when they have a tool that does it for them. WEAK.

It was never about "trans athletes should just compete in their assigned sex at birth."

It was always about invalidation of the athlete's gender identity.

Screenshot from NYT review of the new Wuthering Heights movie. It reads:

Ever since Elordi was announced in the role, the choice has stirred up controversy online, where authenticity in casting is highly prized. Some frustrated fans have argued that the casting whitewashes the role. But Bronte scholars say that much of what the author writes about the character's race remains up for interpretation, even if the consensus is that he was probably not intended to be white.

OF COURSE nyt is both-sidesing white Heathcliff. WTAF, folks.

Open for interpretation doesn’t mean “sure he might be totes white!” His exact race is ambiguous, but his being nonwhite and it being a symbol of perceived “wildness” is a central theme of the book.

I hear from people who are surprised I'm still talking about ICE, they thought they'd withdrawn from MN.

No, they have not. In some respects they've escalated.

Some asked why MN is a target. Are there are there a lot more illegals or criminals here?

No, it's not about that. It's about a grudge.

Graphic novels are a bit like hydra in that every time you think you’re finished drawing one, about three more pages you need to draw magically sprout.

Painting depicting a sad looking woman with dark green hair. Pills are going straight into her brain.

"Overconsumption"

I feel as if consuming too much media can lead to a general unhappiness in some people. I wanted to paint something that describes this, thus the "laugh reacts," and "angry reacts" mixed with the medication, going straight to the brain.

“bsky is boring!”

1) good
2) social media should not be a cornerstone of your everyday entertainment
3) I find new artists to follow every day and look at pretty art endlessly on here when I feel like it
4) get a tactile hobby where you create something with your hands
5) read book

It really cannot be emphasized enough that the Holocaust was modeled after the American campaign to displace and exterminate Indigenous people. This country drew up that blueprint.
