Champagne for demonstrators from the brewery that was hosting Barbara Castle. πΎ
It doesn't say if the nurses were RCN, COHSE or other... there seem to have been a lot of local demonstrations where lots of nurses showed support #HistNursing

'Silver' circular badge with dark blue enamel. The outer ring is embellished (possibly a laurel wreath). Within that is a dark blue enamel ring inscribed ' Bridgend General Hospital, Gorau Golud-Iechyd'. According to Google Translate the latter is Welsh for 'Best Wealth-Health'. The centre is a cut out textured cross, at the very centre superimposed is an oil lamp (aka Nightingale lamp) with a yellow enamel flame at its centre. If anyone knows if the Welsh translation is accurate I'd love to know!

A historical photo of a person in a traditional nurse uniform with decorative, colorful crochet details on the sleeves and holding crochet flowers, sitting on a wooden stool and appearing thoughtful.
Vintage photograph titled "Our Girls" featuring a person in a traditional nurse's uniform, with the word "NURSES" in bold red letters and the question "Who Cares?" at the bottom. Decorative yellow stars are placed around the image.
A vintage poster titled 'Nurses & Midwives are needed', featuring a smiling nurse, the word "sparkles" and beads embroidered onto it.
Vintage black and white photograph depicting a nurse sitting on a bench and looking at a baby in her arms, embellished with pink beads.
Look at the fantastic results of our recent embroidery workshop! About the first image, a participant said: "this photo reminded me of a colleague on my third ward over 40 years ago, she wore a fever nurse uniform and deserved flowers as a thank you."
Check out our next workshops on our website!

A set of seven different-shaped surgical instruments
This is a set of seven Roman surgical instruments. Of the set at least three appear to probes; being long thin instruments with a broadened flattened head. One of the items is a small bowl with a spout let into one side and may be for blood letting.
