I liked this one from that summer in The Times 8 June 1974

Champagne for demonstrators from the brewery that was hosting Barbara Castle. 🍾
It doesn't say if the nurses were RCN, COHSE or other... there seem to have been a lot of local demonstrations where lots of nurses showed support #HistNursing

Last week we met Winifred Prentice RCN President 1972-1976.

The Halsbury Report advised a 33% av pay rise for members which Barbara Casle honoured✊

Within that is a dark blue enamel ring inscribed ' Bridgend General Hospital, Gorau Golud-Iechyd'. According to Google Translate the latter is Welsh for 'Best Wealth-Health'. The centre is a cut out textured cross, at the very centre superimposed is an oil lamp (aka Nightingale lamp) with a yellow enamel flame at its centre. If anyone knows if the Welsh translation is accurate I'd love to know!

A set of seven different-shaped surgical instruments

This is a set of seven Roman surgical instruments. Of the set at least three appear to probes; being long thin instruments with a broadened flattened head. One of the items is a small bowl with a spout let into one side and may be for blood letting.

Got the 53 bus (my favourite) from lower marsh after theatre a few weeks back. Ebike boys tried to nick a girls phone as I was walking up.
Bus Q formed ranks so they rode off. Then they looked after the girl.
Life in London can be rough but people can also be lovely x

You will come out the other side, but in the mean time give enough time to your grief. Bereavement is exhausting, so take your time xx
