The building I live in has been without running mains water for almost 3 days. Thames Water delivered us two pallets of emergency bottled water last night - to drink, wash, use in toilet etc. My patience in their inability to fix the issue is running out…

Had to do a double take with this because in the UK we have a department store called Iceland (it sells frozen food, mostly UPF ready-meals) and it’s entirely reasonable to assume that someone might feel murderous about having to shop there. 🤪

I’m really not into podcasts given the majority of them are two blokes chatting (🥱), but have recently fallen for audio dramas: they’re perfect bite-size thrills in the podcast format 🫣😍 Havoc Town and Bridgewater are my two current discoveries, both excellent listening, should anyone want a rec.

* wash x 2, Henna dye 3 hrs, hair mask, scalp massage, condition + wet comb, rinse, plop, curl cream, curl gel, curling brush, scrunch, hover diffuse, curl diffuse, serum, diffuse again, scrunch out the curl cast, die from exhaustion.

*packs bikini in bag, ready for outdoor swim after lunch* 😅

The attack affected their internal systems too - the manager at my local M&S told me it’s been a nightmare trying to get stock (their shelves are constantly empty) because the ordering was centralised and taking it all offline has made it near impossible. 😔

All *excellent* tips. I’ve always felt it beneficial for writers to be able to succinctly pitch their story in a sentence: it sharpens their idea and the writing process by pushing them to really think what the core narrative is. At least, that’s what I always try to do! 😅

(I had to unfollow all the runners / running inspo on all social media because it kept making me cry. 😔)

I’m very stressed at the moment and said to a friend, ‘I’m going to switch off, meditate and go for a run - then I’ll calm down’, but then I remembered I can’t run* and I sobbed a bit. I’m so desperate to, it’s killing me. *Maybe in the autumn, maybe later; my hip recovery is slow. 😭
