And when the story implies that the only kind of true and deep love is one where you're willing to fuck over everyone else in your life to have your target all to yourself and putting their happiness first means you don't love them that much...

Makes the author/story feel... Narcissistic?

When you're planning for collateral murders to get to your target for your friend's revenge plot, especially when the story shows that murder has traumatized them in the past, and the pain still simmers, you don't come off as a 'true friend' when enabling them give themselves more permanent scars.

[Friend] Is bottling up their feelings of sadness and their pain and trauma which is self destructive? Help them stop, Narratively cathartic.
[Friend] Wants to kill the people who hurt them in the past, which is EXTREMELY self destructive. Help them do it. Narratively cathartic, but evil.

It feels like the protagonists only do good when it's emotionally cathartic for an audience. protect the orphanage, jump in front of a monster to save civillians, be the bigger person when the other side is a hateful caricature. But when it's not narratively convenient, they fail every time.

I'd have forgiven it if the story noted the parallels or had the MC question if letting their friend even consider going down the road that drove the world to hell is a good idea. But the story and the MC just glossed over that because the protagonists are the "good guys" and this is good and right.

The story tried to justify it by making it seem like that was the only way to save another friend's life, but that in-and-of-itself is majorly fucked up, especially since the biggest fuck up in history of that setting was a similar genocide that left the MC as the "Last of their kind"

I recently read a different story where a character who was therapy-speaking at people like 'you matter' one chapter decided to go on a spiteful genocidal rampage against local minority populations, especially children and families, specifically a minority that their friend-group includes.

Usually stuffing is the subkink. For me it's the main kink.

Yes it is. I'm more into stuffing kink so the available works don't usually have the stuff I like to see. But that's just cause i'm in a super minority who likes weight gain as a secondary kink to stuffing, instead of the other way around.

To be fair, Japanese RPGs are weirdly consistent about making their heroes feel like heroes and not protagonist-centered-morality. And if they aren't heroes it doesn't seem to be trying to do that "A hero would do this but i'm no hero" writing cliche, but just let the character be themselves.

We might live in different internets...

Listen. Dude. Dude. If you're threatening to kill anywhere from a family to an entire race over the safety of your designated little-sister-character (No one actually threatened her safety, you're just being paranoid) You're kinda scaring me.
