03.03.2026 10:24 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs odd how our dwellings have largely become cloistered isolation zones. People donβt seem to socialize in the home as much

03.03.2026 03:41 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I canβt believe Iβve kept up with this new album a day thing for two months. Itβs been a lot of fun. Iβve made some great discoveries. It also really helps that this has been a phenomenal year for album releases so far. Not that there isnβt tons of back catalogue stuff to explore but I love new π₯³

(2026)
Sam Beam is one of those dudes that just dependably puts out good records and this one is no exception. Two nice collabs with Iβm With Her here too. βDates and Dead Peopleβ is my gut reaction favorite track. Very ornate and builds to a big swell of sound.
A wooden sigh reading βRED MTN PARKβ marking the entrance to Red Mountain Park. Party cloudy skies and trees in the background
Got in a few miles today. Super ready for DST this weekend.

02.03.2026 20:05 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Poster for the Bear Shadow Music festival shows a bear playing a fiddle and a flute on a salamander and a fish and an owl on a guitar with some butterflies flittering about. Lineup is Charley Crockett, Trombone Shorty, Mavis Staples, Margo Price, Marc Broussard, Infamous Stringdusters, Kashus Culpepper, Pony Bradshaw and J & the Causeways
This lineup looks fun AF

02.03.2026 15:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In the post above, apparently there was a lawsuit of sorts about the OG cover on the left and it was replaced with this cover below and now there's a third cover, so I guess this all makes sense here, but I've seen it other times by other bands and it's a confusing move:
02.03.2026 15:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The original album cover of DIIV's Oshin. There's a drawing of a bird standing on the feet legs of some kind of human figure on it's back. There are Asian art seals/stamps on the lower right corner and a circle with a photograph of water and rocks in the upper left
The new cover of DIIV's Oshin. The same circle/rocks photo is on the top left, but otherwise there are line drawings of I can't tell what exactly and hand written words that read: "Oshin gose on my feet like warm per of watr slipers. The sand flis bhind me with my secrit inside"
I always find it peculiar when a band changes album art on a re-release/new pressing/etc.
DIIV has released new album art for their latest vinyl reissue of 2012's Oshin.
She's a very awesome person.
02.03.2026 15:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How to get the furthest out on a bongo:
02.03.2026 15:36 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Not exactly the same, but I had a friend get so obsessed with the drums on Radiohead's "Weird Fishes" that she took drum lessons until she could play it and then abruptly stopped lol
02.03.2026 15:32 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I've been on board with all of it until this last album, which is pretty wildly forgettable.
02.03.2026 15:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thatβs usually how it is for most bands
02.03.2026 13:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thereβs one venue here that still does paper tickets, but thatβs only if you buy in person.
02.03.2026 13:32 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Outrageously so upon first listen
02.03.2026 13:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Most venues here donβt waive or decrease fees when buying in person anymore. βWe still have to use the softwareβ is the answer Iβve been given when asking why.
02.03.2026 13:26 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 1These old ass phone photos of Tame Impala playing a club in Kentucky are from 13 years ago today. Tickets were $16. Now they play basketball arenas and tickets are flirting with $200.

Mutiny After Midnight
(2026)
Sturg decided to preview the album by uploading it to YouTube despite his claims of no streaming and I canβt wait to get my hands on the physical copy so I can properly blast it. Political and often sexy funky dance jams.
