This is a real thing btw. I'm not certain of how common it is currently, but back when all those blood plasma transfusions were going around in 2017, that blood plasma was bought directly from these blood banks, because we live in a hellhole where blood banks are for profit.

But if we gave people a UBI they wouldn't want to donate blood plasma anymore, and then rich people wouldn't be able to buy that blood from the banks for their young blood transfusions.
