In the centre of the ceiling is an oval painted panel which is surrounded by narrow rectangular panels on each side. At each end are three more panels consisting of a rectangular one between two oval panels. Each panel is surrounded by elaborate and decorative gilt frames. Beneath the ceiling, the walls are a cream colour, with white window trim and columns. There are four elaborate chadeliers hanging from the corners of the centre panel on the ceiling. At the far end of the room is the throne, with just the red overhead cover and part of the red drapes visible.

My entry for #WeekFforFramed is the ceiling of the Banqueting House, London. It was commissioned by King Charles 1 in 1629 and the panels were painted by Rubens in his studio in Antwerp. They were shipped to London where they were framed and installed.
