But I feel like a lot of the concerns are just sort of Luddite "machine learning = bad". And that's just not the case. We can't put the equations back in a bottle. And sticking our head in the sand isn't going to build a better future.

I honestly don't remember what this one was. Right now I'm cooking up an Unreal render and it's about the same. But I'm also not blanket "anti AI". I agree we shouldn't plagiarize and consume half the energy on Earth, etc.

Sometimes I sit down at a computer and feel like I've been really productive, looking up this, clicking on that, cross-referencing the other. And it turns out I've just been doing captchas and software updates and two-factor authentications and more captchas; and I've literally done nothing.

I agree with that. But I also agree that there can’t be escape until our democracy seems like it’s on a firm foundation. And I also think that Techdirt and Wired are doing some of the best coverage. “The Republicans said________, and the Democrats said__________.” is exhausting non-reporting.
