The only thing I can think of that could *possibly* justify this is if the game isn't a full $70 or so. Like, it'd be harder to justify a 64 GB card cutting THAT far into the profit of like a $40 game.
Or this is just the bone headed decision of the week that makes me wonder what they're thinking.

Building on the previous generation's specs isn't always a good thing. The Wii U was little more than a souped up Wii, which made it great for compatibility, but that limited what they could do for new games, and resulted in barely any third party support.

Soft modding has literally never been allowed in any game console's EULA, and the consequences have basically always included bricking.

I mean, it's hard to believe that 10 years ago, people thought it was the end of the line for Nintendo, but now they have a good chance of coming out on top against Sony. The problem is that Xbox needs to do the opposite of everything they're doing right now and fast to have any chance.

The used game came from a story where someone bought used Switch 1 game cards from FB Marketplace that had been dumped and posted online. They called Nintendo about it and proved they, in fact, had the original official cards and their online was reinstated. Nothing to it but bad luck.

Some of them might not be different. I think the Nintendo Music App just bunches songs by game regardless of whether they were exclusive to that version or not.

The Famicom Disk System was a floppy-based add-on to the Famicom in Japan. In addition to the different storage medium, the add-on also had a better sound chip, allowing for a slightly wider range of sounds. These had to get downgraded for cartridges.

I think it would be more likely that you would pay an import fee of around 10-15%, either when you check out or when it arrives in the country.

This reminds me of how a bunch of animated movies from the early 2000s have cult followings now. Like, Treasure Planet and Road to El Dorado were not hits in their day, but people talk about them like they're classics.
