We just saw “Jaja’s African Hair Braiding “ at the Mark Taper Forum. The production is excellent (but try not to sit too far to the side). Very highly recommended. Catch it if you can. Funny and very moving, incredibly well performed.

I believe in the Oxford comma, and two spaces after a period. My writing will continue to use both. You, however, are free to do you.

One of my favorite drag/acapella beauty shop quartets is performing in the same city I am in for the first time in forever. I got tickets. If you love great singing, great drag, and/or great humor, @dragapella.com on Feb 5 in Silverlake should be totally worth it.

I made home made chicken noodle soup for dinner. I made enough to have it several more times this week. Mmmmmmm.

Now, following governmental pressure, Disney has pulled Kimmel's show from the air because of his "comments about the death of Mr. Kirk. And what kimmel said was so mild it would make mayo feel spicy. The joke that got him fired wasn't even about Charlie Kirk : We hit some new lows over the weekend with the maga gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it. Right wing entertainers have been crying about the death of free speech for years. In reality, they were just mad they couldn't be bigoted without consequences. Where are these people now? Free speech isn't about being able to disparage trans people freely, it's about being able to speak truth to power. And once you've lost it, it's gone.

Kimmel was right.

Goodbye Charlie Kirk.

I want to direct folks attention to a new short fiction website called hellitself.com. It is totally free, and they just published their first story (which is weird and creepy and I loved it!!) You can read their mission etc, but more importantly read Deborah L. Davitt's story published today!

I ran today. Not fast but I did it.

I am teaching 2 online classes this term. Because later assignments will require students to post picture into our learning management system, I have them post a picture for their introduction. I don't care what the picture is. Many post their pets. I'm so happy to see all the 4-footed friends.

This morning was a lovely day for a bike ride before the first day of classes.

And then we did a Scooby Doo escape room.

I discovered that if I wanted to use the hot tub today at a time when the water temperature was warmer than the air , I had do it this morning. So, I did.😛

I got up and it was almost 80F before sunrise. I hurried to get a bike ride in before it was insufferable. My chain slipped the gear and I had to do a small roadside repair. Still a lovely morning ride. I should be ready for my upcoming bike tour.

I saw the the name and panicked it was @planetnude.co I was so glad when I realized my pre-coffee confusion.

Not gonna lie, I kinda want to seek out this film. It looks like it would make a "so bad its fun" triple feature with "Spring Break" 1983, and "Exchange Lifeguards" 1993.
