Lin spoke with @dreamwisp.bsky.social about MCDM's mission-in-progress and creating "more visceral and tactile" descriptions.
Plus, AI has a limited lifespan. Itโs like the dead internet theory. Itโs already creating more content than humans, causing a dead-end loophole. Because of this, and because itโs too complicated to hand-program, the AI today could be the best AI weโll ever see again.

To further build on this thread; creativity is in the details! For a writer, creativity is where to use an em dash instead of a comma, or the rhythm of the words. Itโs a beautiful art that will never be learned by those who let AI do it for them

03.08.2025 20:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Whatโs a technology that you think is overhyped? Iโm going to give a sideways answer to this, which is that the venture capital business model needs to be understood as requiring hype. You can go back to the Netscape IPO, and that was the proof point that made venture capital the financial lifeblood of the tech industry. Venture capital looks at valuations and growth, not necessarily at profit or revenue. So you donโt actually have to invest in technology that works, or that even makes a profit, you simply have to have a narrative that is compelling enough to float those valuations. So you see this repetitive and exhausting hype cycle as a feature in this industry. A couple of years ago, you would have been asking me about the metaverse, then last year, you would have asked me about Web3 and crypto, and for each of these inflection points thereโs an Andreessen Horowitz manifesto. Itโs not simply that one piece of technology is overhyped, itโs that hype is a necessary ingredient of the current business ecosystem of the tech industry. We should examine how often the financial incentive for hype is rewarded without any real social returns, without any meaningful progress in technology, without these tools and services and worlds ever actually manifesting. Thatโs key to understanding the growing chasm between the narrative of techno-optimists and the reality of our tech-encumbered world.

02.08.2025 17:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As all thing should be! Obviously stock art is a bit different than commissions, but itโs certainly a shame that DTRPG limits that space so severely. I keep hearing about so many little things that further convince me they are very disconnected from the creators they try to serve.

02.08.2025 12:26 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Kyvilwrooti These ancient forest creatures were once mirthful spirits that watched over the elves and the other early humanoids of the world. Benevolent, tree-like guardians of joy, the Kyvilwrooti were struck with immense grief by the many sorrows of the god wars and, with their creators gone, lost their divine purpose. The decades that followed saw these beautiful spirits forgotten by the world, and they withered away into strange, corpse-like creatures of bark and mould. They hid away in caves and dark forests at the edges of civilization, mere husks with no memories of their former glory. Seeking only the mirth they once knew, they use their kilometres of slithering branch-like limbs to snare and entangle the corpses of children. Some will dress up the corpses and play with them, while others will string them along the ruins of forgotten towns in a macabre animation, seeking only to recreate the echoes of the mirth they once knew.
Ever encountered a strange child in the forest, playing with branches but never facing you? There might be something more lurking out of sightโฆ
Wanted to share this cool and creepy little forest creature I wrote up for my fav, secret, dark fantasy project.
