CK Hutchison reports that 3 Sweden had 85% 5G population coverage in June. 3 Sweden is one of just two Nordic operators with less than 90% population coverage. Ice is the other one, not stating its 5G population coverage. The dotted line is an interpretation of regulatory data.

Taiwan: The mobile data usage growth collapsed since the two challenger MNOs were acquired by FET and Taiwan Mobile. The same happened to the service revenue growth. Consolidation doesn't always return what one expects.

Opensignal data show that 5G is getting slower in all of the Nordic countries. Expansion of 700 MHz 5G is mentioned as a reason, but surely it is just also a factor of traffic load gradually moving to 5G?

It's been years since Telia Sweden reported on convergence (FMC), but in its Q2 25 presentation, it states that 57% of consumers on the Telia brand, 1 million in total, are convergent. What's moved quicker is the share on unlimited mobile: 65% for consumers on the Telia brand (excl. Halebop, Fello).

In Norway, it's worth much to have the national roaming agreement with Ice/Lyse. Telenor's "wholesale and other mobile revenue" jumped in Q2 25 when the transfer of the Ice national roaming agreement came into full effect. Consequently, Telia's "other mobile service revenue" fell.

We said it would happen, and it did: India's Jio is now, narrowly, the operator in the world with the largest FWA base. T-Mobile US closely behind, but the population of India is so much larger that the difference will likely increase going forward. As a country, US still leading over India.

Given how successful sales of 5G FWA is reported to be in the Danish broadband market, it is odd that the authority from the beginning says that it will only look at fixed broadband.

Russia was kicked out of the G8 in March 2014 exactly BECAUSE it launched its war in Ukraine by invading and forcibly annexing Crimea.

AT&T introduces Turbo on its business offering too, but in a different way than in consumer; as a new premium tier. Is prioritization a new effective tiering lever when all plans have become unlimited? about.att.com/blogs/2025/t...

Greece had the fastest year-on-year growth in mobile data usage. Again. tefficient.com/the-demand-f... But most countries experienced slower growth in 2024 than in 2023 - also if measured in absolute GB terms.

Sweden: According to the reported figures by PTS today, Telenor's 5G share of traffic dropped in 2H 2024. It makes us suspect that the total mobile data traffic reported by Telenor to PTS is incorrect. If trusting it, 3 Sweden is back as the 5G share of traffic leader with 23% of traffic on 5G.

In total usage terms, Finland still leads comfortably, though. Will take decades for the other countries to close the gap.

This graphs shows how many *additional* GB each mobile subscription consumed year-over-year in the Nordics. Sweden and Denmark have not yet reported 2024 yet. Finland went from growth leader to growth laggard. 5G FWA behind Denmark's recent development.
