Weβre stuck in a moribund scholarly publishing ecosystem. Acts of refusal by academic researchers and faculty may be our only way out.
Itβs been a long time since Iβve read such a well-argumented article. Quick fixes and continuous patching are no longer a solution (the big enterprises want us to believe that)βwhen an ecosystem is dying, it might not heal anymore; it may be needed to replace it. π€
