Anyone with term though will require a roster player going back to make room for next year’s cap. Either now or in the summer, so you have to plan ahead whenever negotiating for a player with term.
Only player like that that makes sense is Trocheck, but only if they move KK, money is close enough.
The problem with trades right now is that while we have a ton of cap space this year. A lot of that is already gone for next year due to Blake and Stankoven’s extensions.
They’re looking at maybe $9m roughly for next year and still have Nikishin to sign.
This means that any rental is fine…
And it looks like we’ll have to wait longer. #ReverseJinx
Let’s face it. We were due an “Experience Canes Hockey” loss. It’s been awhile.
The fact that the three teams involved in the Rantanen saga are also the top 3 teams in the league at the quarter season mark is objectively funny.
Remember folks. In a night where every team is playing and they’re making this big deal of it all… this VGK/CAR game isn’t a national broadcast…
Canes are an absolute MASH unit now and all they’ve done this stretch of VGK->COL->DAL->VGK on the schedule is show a ton of guts.
This feels… different.
The Carolina MASH Units…
Jr when this news dropped, maybe.
Pre-season Stanley Cup Champion final pick:
Canes vs Predators
Canes win in 5 to continue the Erik Haula loses against the Canes in the playoffs narrative. :-).
Tom Dundon finding every way he can to milk money from the NHL, now including players not even on his NHL roster.
Glad to see I can once again ignore the Panthers this year.
Post a meme you made.
Not surprised, I haven’t seen a rite-aid that wasn’t a dash mart or Spirit Holloween in forever.
Tom Dundon buys Portland Trailblazers to upgrade area around which includes where the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL play.
All this as a favor to his budding superstar Seth Jarvis, a former Portland Winterhawk.
For me it’s the Rangers games. My wife hates going to Rangers games.
Man, talk about knowing the makeup of your market and the power of keeping seats open purchase only for certain away teams.
Also, surprised PIT and BOS didn’t make the list.

In the same scenario any team would move. Lack of sales and an arena lease issue.
Until any of that becomes a problem, they aren’t moving. And if they do move, it’s not likely the NBA would agree to move them to Raleigh since Charlotte is already in the region.
So calm your horses on that.
Just in case people take any post I make seriously about an NBA team moving to Raleigh.
Dundon isn’t from Raleigh, he doesn’t live in Raleigh (lives in Dallas), he’s building his portfolio, that’s it.
Portland isn’t in trouble of losing their team, and will only lose it… continued.
I mean, there is an NBA ready arena that is having over a billion dollars of renovations to build it up as an entertainment district over the next few years… so…
Of course, not sure how that impacts scheduling. Already hard enough to book NC State Basketball and Hurricanes games, NBA would be nuts.
@thgyoutube.bsky.social might be worthy of a news item.
TD building that sports portfolio for when MLB decides it wants to take him seriously in NC.
This would have been an SNL sketch just 10 years ago.
As someone who also has to resell some games to make everything work financially, I have a feeling the secondary resell market for that area is going to be nuts this season.
Sitting in that area was still the cheapest seats for this year. I feel like that’ll probably change in 26-27.
Can’t wait until the season starts personally. I moved to sec 316 for this season just so I could be seated next to this and have ample opportunities to enjoy it.
NHL knew what they were doing…
So, a President’s Trophy year is what we have in store for the Canes. Got it.
