I've always found frontend development a bit chaotic, with the endless stream of new JavaScript frameworks leading to fatigue. Yet, TypeScript’s latest updates intrigue me, sparking a desire to learn. I'm torn though, as AI might soon take over coding. 😔 #JavaScript #TypeScript
I really miss coding in Go 😔
So in a Pixel 6 with Android 15, I couldn’t remove Google as the main and only search engine 🤔
So I just received an email from the Google Play Store, and even though I’m an individual developer, I need to provide my full address or my apps will be removed? 🤯
Haha I was thinking of the same GIF 🤣
Thanks a lot Kevin, that’s a great answer! I also think like that, and I’ll try to follow the example
I would say as an individual. I’m currently building a project from scratch and I’m wondering how you guys do it, because I feel very lazy to implement features in both platforms and then move on to another feature.
Wow awesome! 48GB of RAM! You’re going to be able to run two Android emulators at the same time 😬 jk enjoy it man, it’s a fabulous machine
#KMP magicians: how do you normally work in your apps? Do you first create sort of an MVP of one platform first, and then the other? Or do you work in parallel with both platforms implementing features first in a platform then on the other platform?
Thanks! I’ve been thinking and I think I’ll wait for the 9a to be release 🫣
Thanks! I only want Android stock phones
I was thinking of getting a Pixel phone and I was thinking of the 8 or 8a but the reviews in general are way worse than I expected 😅
Do you perhaps have an example? I wasn’t sure about using Koin in the library - how can I expect the library consumer to pass the context then ?
I’m trying to create a small #KMP library to learn a bit, but I’m really stuck. How do you guys deal with actual/expect if you need to inject params i.e. context for androidMain but not for iosMain?
I knew you could use IJ for Android development but I thought it was so much better to use AS for it 🤔
When developing for #KMP, do you use a beta/canary version of Android Studio, or the stable one?
Is there an iOS version? Also, probably a recurrent question, but how do you manage to develó and monetise this app while having a full time job and a family I suppose? 😬🤔
Welcome tocayo! 👋
I’ve seen recently a couple of nice apps to track subscriptions in iOS, but I haven’t seen any in Android that really caught my eye. Time to create my own in #KMP 😏
so it's back in Meerkat Canary 3 😏
Issue #378314205
Missing "Clean build" in Build menu
Thanks for mentioning it, because I didn’t know it and I’m actually really liking it 🤗
I also use NetNewsWire and Feedly, where I store all the feeds in an account and I export/import them in other readers
Yeah well I meant “to help people find remote jobs” 😥
I’ve been working on an app to help people find o my remote jobs, and I’m wondering what’s a good example of an Android app with a nice filtering screen? For example to filter jobs based on categories, or tags, contract types, company, etc
Will you please record it so people like me who can’t join can watch it later? Please? 🙏
Converting an Android project into a KMP one 😊
I’ve had enough of Twitter. I’m Spanish and after all the flooding in Valencia, Spain, I’m fed up with right wing extremists (very young by the way) acting as PA of their ideas and normalising them through social media. Seeing how everything is shifting towards the right, thanks to fake news
I wonder why there’s no (easy) way to convert from different date in string formats such as ISO8601 in kotlinx.datetime
Dear Bluesky, having the scroll to the top button at the bottom left of the screen is very frustrating for left handed users, as every time I try to scroll, I accidentally hit the button, resulting in a never ending spiral of scroll down -> scroll to the top -> scroll down, etc
You’ll rot in jail😬
Sincerely,
An Android developer
