If this story is true (guess whether I am putting my money on whether DHS or she is lying), DHS illegally assaulted and arrested this woman, then dragged her through social media hell with all sorts of lies and mockery. I hope her attorneys are relentless.

Complaints abound about Google mangling meta descriptions, but we're in really creepy territory when Google's edit parrots law enforcement and states their claim as fact. I have no idea whether this journalist actually threw anything at ICE but so far it's just ICE saying so. 🙄 Do better Google

The Guardian had written a meta description that gave a very different (to put it mildly) characterization of the event: "Witnesses call arrest of video editor Debbie Brockman, a US citizen, by masked federal agents, 'absolutely horrifying.'" This is the description that appears on browser SERPs.

It states as fact something that was, actually, a quote from a Department of Homeland Security official. The actual text of the Guardian article makes this clear.
