The Montrevic Arcology, now in glorious technicolor

Yess, good stuff! I wish non-SO falcon was more viable.

procreate is def well designed, but the thing about CSP is you don't have to throw all the intuition and know-how from using the software on desktop out the window.

The subscription absolutely sucks. They know how much i'll pay to be able to open the same comic files between devices.

Yup! They're like guinea pig size. Maybe a little smaller.

Procreate does get easier. I still pay for iPad CSP tho. Extremely convenient to be able to work on the same files between my desktop and my iPad.

I have two short WIP comics and I'm determined to finish at least one of them. Would you be more excited to see...

A.) family culture lizzer explaining her beliefs to a Duhrish guy

B.) an accident in a lab on the edge of the Kiss...

a reptilian creature wearing dark brown clothing stands on a ledge facing a mass of glowing tentacles. the glowing tentacles are "saying" something that looks like an inscrutable QR code. in the background is a pool of glowing liquid fed by waterfalls

You're right, it might be good to build out them-size technology a little more! Human tech for the huge or complex stuff, """rat""" tech for their own simpler tools and vehicles.

Creatures that look like a cross between a porcubine, a caterpillar, and a beaver operating consoles, and pointing at a map showing a city overlaid with regions of danger. In the top left hand corner is a drawing of a pickup truck that has been modified into something that looks like a large ship, with a rectangular bridge.

Critters and their landship

Definitely!

One of the biggest fuel producers in the setting is a drilling and refining rig inhabited by millions of these guys. It's basically an arcology.

Full command from the Death Auto, locked in and gathering Information from from every sensor; they tell me I'm close to the Treasures, I hit that throttle that only has one speed called Run Their Asses Over; knuckles so white they're starting podcasts. I will die in this captain's chair

Glad you like it! This is one of those settings in the "if I wait until it's polished I'll never get around to sharing it" bucket.

They're roughly rat-sized.

See the monitor in that sketch? That's the screen assembly from a laptop.

There are a few EVs in the mix, but most vehicles in this setting are powered by internal combustion engines.

Any pre-war gas has LONG since expired. These guys source their fuel from remaining pumps/refineries (operated by hundreds of thousands of critters), as well as from biodiesel plants.

29.05.2025 19:33 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They just wire the power steering into a console on the bridge. It's lucky for them that most modern vehicles are drive-by-wire.

29.05.2025 19:23 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Though these guys have some industrial capacity, they mostly rely on salvage for resources + technology. Even if you *know* how to build an engine, it's pretty tough to operate the machine tools when you're the size of a rat.

Their "landship" is actually a modified pickup truck. The premise of this setting is the Borrowers + Mad Max + Deserts of Kharak. Little creatures in a post apocalyptic setting, piloting modified vehicles around like massive ships.
