Y'all, as a kid who grew up food-insecure, plz don't do this. There is nothing more demoralizing as a little kid than being reminded of your family's poverty. We looked forward to Halloween bc it was the 1 chance to be like every other kid and get access to treats the food banks never gave out.

In 2024, more than 750,000 people in Alabama were on SNAP. That's 1 out of every 7 Alabamians (Alabamans?).

These are not lazy people. These are hungry people trying to make ends meet.
