Yay we just crossed 2000 followers on GameFound! There's been a lot of momentum today and I'm not sure exactly why but pleased to see it!

Stacey has what is to me the definitive analysis of all this discourse on games and art:

Today when I was demoing, I met an excited boy that loved my game and regaled me with everything he did, and it was like getting to meet my past self. Sometimes I wonder if I should be doing something more practical and real world with my time. But not today 🤍

When you're playing a game, you can become anyone, anything. You can be a brilliant general, or a hero that saves the world. When I was growing up, there was no fantasy as powerful, and that's what I wanted. Now, I can give that feeling to other people. I want to give this gift.

I've been reflecting recently on why I make games. It goes back to childhood - when I was a kid, nothing could take me away from reality like games could. Especially in grade 6, when I was bedridden, all I had to keep me company was my Game Boy Advance. Part 1/x
