Trump declares war on state AI laws, including a law I passed to ensure transparency of AI safety protocols. He’s doing so purportedly to promote U.S. AI “dominance.”

Of course, he just authorized chip sales to China & Saudi Arabia: the exact opposite of ensuring U.S. dominance.

For the U.S. to prosper & lower the cost of living, we gotta make it easier to build the things we need — housing, clean energy, child care centers, transit & so much more. The vetocracy needs to end. We’re doing that work in California. We need to take it national.

Antisemitism is pervasive & growing. It’s leading to harassment & violence against Jews. Yet, there’s an orchestrated campaign to deny its existence. We see this in the lies spread in opposition to the Jewish community’s work this year to pass legislation on school antisemitism.

We see lots of rhetoric today, on right & left, about Jews controlling institutions — governments, elected officials, financial institutions, media, etc. For millennia, this claim of Jewish control & manipulation has been a pillar of antisemitic demonization, leading to violence.

It’s hard to overstate how cruel & evil this is. These are people who’ve qualified to take the citizenship oath. Are there any red lines these bigots won’t cross?

As the Supreme Court prepares to take up Trump’s extremist effort to end birthright citizenship, let’s remember this isn’t only about the children of current undocumented people. It’s also about tens of millions of second & third generation citizens whose citizenship would be immediately in doubt.

The death cult strikes again, opposing vaccinating babies for Hep B. Children can get Hep B in childcare or at home. It can lead to lifelong illness & cancer.

These are the same folks who don’t want teens vaccinated for HPV, putting them at risk for cervical, penile & anal cancer.

Let’s be clear: Trump & his ilk are the ones poisoning our nation’s blood. Let’s extract the poison & throw his ass out.

We must continue California’s long legacy as the national leader in scientific progress. This $23 billion ballot measure will protect research across our universities, hospitals, and labs. While Trump defunds science, California is building the infrastructure to save it.

Trump, Miller, Noem, et al, continue to lie that their mass deportations are focused on criminals. That’s not true, a big percentage of people — particularly in blue areas — have no criminal charges.

This isn’t a public safety campaign. It’s a xenophobic, racial profiling campaign.

I wrote California’s landmark law forcing insurers to cover necessary treatment for ALL mental health and substance use disorders, and to stop them from delaying or denying care. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting for stronger protections and access to quality healthcare.

Trump’s bad faith use of antisemitism empowers antisemitism deniers on the left, who now dismiss efforts to fight antisemitism in progressive spaces as “aligned with Trump.” Attacking Jews who are fighting antisemitism in progressive spaces isn’t progressive. Quite the opposite.

Trump makes the dynamic worse by using antisemitism as a pretext to cut funding for universities & science — using Jews as weapons for his MAGA agenda. It’s vile & makes Jews less safe. It’s also galling since Trump is actively working to elect Nazi-aligned parties in Europe.

. . . is maddening. Progressives would never accept white people deciding among themselves what counts as anti-Black racism & then demonizing Black people who disagree with them. Yet that’s what we regularly see directed toward Jews who are fighting antisemitism.
