There’s a lot of killers in DBD original lore who don’t kill because they want to but bc the entity forces or convinces them to
Those reasons could be he thinks he’s doing this to protect his loved ones or he is going after other ghouls/ a combination of the 2. Kanekis behavior fits, the lore DBD chose doesn’t and is lazy
And has Rize, the binge eaters hunger. I don’t like the lore DBD went with for his justification in the fog though. I think it would have been much more effective to just have the entity starve him and then use hallucinations to torture/justify his reasoning for hunting survivors
I personally disagree on the fact that Kaneki isn’t like how he is in the manga. In the manga Kaneki is frequently seen with bouts of hunger, lapses in sanity, and also goes so far as to torture other ghouls for information. He adopts parts of Jason’s personality as a coping mechanism
Touched the game a little when trickster released- fully started playing when Onryo came out!
Crytek has done such an amazing job over the past year- year and a half refining Hunt and quickly fixing various issues with performance and UI that came with the 1896 patch. I really recommend giving Hunt Showdown a try

The problem is that BHVR would- and my guess still does. Nerf things by most usage. Most usage doesn’t necessarily mean something is OP- but could instead mean that there’s a core gameplay issue that needs to be addressed. But they have not done that effectively. That’s what I mean.
Took me a bit to find it but here. forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-dayl... they used to release these all the time. They actually stopped once I think singularity released? But here we can see most use items, perks, and killers. Showing the meta and general opinion of how gameplay works
Tbh most of the competition destroyed itself for one reason or another.
So yeah- I’m not really one to believe they are ultizing their resources correctly. Whether it be ignoring, incorrect interpretations, or prioritizing in the wrong order. The point is even with the data they have, BHVR does not have their shit together, and I don’t think they will get it together.
And yeah. They do have the consultants. But we have also seen and heard from those consultants that BHVR frequently chooses not to listen to them. Otzdarva and Hens have been frequent voices for the community and are consultants, and we have seen them directly be ignored.
I mean sure. I get what you’re saying. But also they have shared the data of community opinions in surveys before. And it generally matches my belief of the community. However I think BHVR interprets a lot of that data incorrectly, looking for outlandish solutions to simple problems.
But if it IS too niche. Then I don’t see BHVR shaping up any time soon. They have a very different understanding of what the game actually is compared to the communities perception. The thing that caused other companies to fail is now what’s happening w DBD ALONG with the awful coding causing issues
