Mitchell-Lama Residents Coalition Board Member Barbara Collins spoke about being denied SCRIE benefits because she made 23 cents over the income limit. Tenants who have lived in their apartments for decades are being priced out because the SCRIE and DRIE programs are broken.

A sample script:
“I’m a constituent, and I want my legislators to pass SCRIE & DRIE reform this session. Seniors and disabled tenants are being pushed out of their homes because of outdated rules. We need action now, please pass SCRIE and DRIE reform!”

We’re down to the final days of the NYS legislative session. Call your state legislators TODAY and urge them to support Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) & Disability-RIE (DRIE) reform before the session ends!
