Tonight, I will be meeting with members of the Muslim community in Prince Albert and I will make it clear that peace and respect for each other as human beings — recognition of our shared humanity — is the only way forward.

My heart also goes out to people in Saskatchewan’s Muslim community watching this devastation and suffering, and feeling powerless to stop this suffering.

This is an attempt to erase an entire group of people and it is completely unacceptable.

And further conflict and occupation, as is being discussed by the Israeli Government, will only lead to the loss of more innocent lives. It’s time for a permanent ceasefire, for the end of withholding food and basic supplies as a weapon in war.

What is happening in Gaza is nothing short of a humanitarian crisis and it must end. Starving civilians as a method of war is, by definition, a crime under international law.

The scenes from Gaza are horrifying. My heart breaks as I see Palestinian children starving and their parents left helpless, unable to find food for them or keep them safe.

We should be protecting our workers and industries, diversifying away from Trump’s America, and delivering on gamechanging infrastructure projects — rail lines, pipelines and power lines — from Canadian coast to Canadian coast.

This is no way to build an economy, now and into the future.

Our province's agricultural exports to the United States have plunged 16.5 per cent, energy exports have dropped 13.4 per cent and forestry product exports have fallen nearly 24 per cent year-to-date.

Bullies like Trump respect strength. All Moe’s approach has gotten us is more job-killing U.S. tariffs.

When we should be united, the Sask. Party is breaking with our country, putting American booze back on the shelves and refusing to put Saskatchewan companies first for public contracts — more broken promises.

Scott Moe should be standing up for our province — like other premiers are doing — not pandering to Donald Trump.

My heart goes out to the thousands from the North who remain out of their homes this long weekend.

My colleagues and I are keeping in constant contact with local leaders and Leroy Laliberte - Athabasca MLA has travelled as far as Fort Saskatchewan in recent days to meet with and support evacuees.

Seriously, that’s what he said — you can’t make this stuff up.

Nearly two months after wildfires began to threaten Saskatchewan communities in the North, now — finally — the Sask. Party has called out to the Federal Government to send 300 firefighters.
The Premier, the Minister of Public Safety claimed for weeks they didn’t need help while communities burned.
